From 1st April 2015 riders of some motorcycles and trikes will see a slight increase in the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) they will have to pay, the increases were announced in this weeks government’s 2015 spring budget.
The increase is £1 for a motorcycle between 401cc to 600cc to £59 and Over 600cc to £81 to tax for 12 months if paying by either Direct Debit – single payment or a one off payment not via Direct Debit.
For six months the cost of a motorcycle between 401-600cc for six months will now be £32.45 and for a motorcycle Over 600cc £44.55
There are other smaller increases if you are paying by Direct Debit via 12 monthly installments or a single six month payment.
Trikes over 150cc also face an increase for 12 months of £1 and a whole 55p for six months and other small increase depending which payment is made……
All other rates of VED for smaller bikes and trikes remain unchanged.
