Dean Harrison among star guests at 2015 Adelaide/Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival

adelaide-poster-2015-250Mar-Train Racing’s Dean Harrison has been confirmed among the special guests for the 2015 Adelaide/Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival at the King’s Hall Pavilion in Belfast, which takes place from February 6th-8th.

The 25-year-old from Bradford has signed an exciting two-year deal with the Northern Ireland outfit, which will be Yamaha’s official UK Road Racing team this season.

Harrison is one of the brightest talents in road racing and demonstrated his potential in 2014, claiming his first ever victory at the Isle of Man TT and finishing as the runner-up in the Superstock race behind Michael Dunlop.

The fast-talking English rider also shone at the Southern 100, winning five out of seven races and finishing as a narrow runner-up to Guy Martin in the Solo Championship race.

Harrison will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs at the Festival over the course of the weekend, when he’ll be joined by Honda Racing’s Conor Cummins.

Manx star Cummins put his 2010 horror crash at the TT firmly behind him in 2014 as he made an emotional return to the rostrum for Honda, taking third place in the Superbike race before ending the week with a magnificent performance in the Senior TT, sealing a brilliant runner-up finish on the CBR1000RR Fireblade.

The Ramsey Rocket will attend the Festival on Saturday, February 7th.

World Supersport contender Jack Kennedy has also confirmed his attendance on the Friday and Saturday in Belfast.

The Dubliner earned his first podium finish in the series on the CIA Insurance PTR Honda in Portugal last season and finished 12th overall in the championship in his rookie campaign.

Latest Models From Major Manufacturers

All the very latest models from the major manufacturers will be on display at the 2015 Adelaide/Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival.

An updated version of BMW’s very successful S1000RR is among a comprehensive line-up of machinery on show, along with the manufacturer’s R1200R and F800R models.

One particular machine on the GS Motorcycles stand is sure to attract plenty of attention, with Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 MotoGP ‘special’ taking centre stage, produced to mark the manufacturer’s return to the premier Grand Prix class in 2015.

Also on display will be a GL650X Suzuki and an Indian Scout, with a host of the latest new bikes still to be announced in the coming weeks.

Organised for the 20th year by Billy Nutt of Nutt Promotions in Coleraine, the Festival attracted a record number of visitors in 2014.

A special emphasis this year has been placed on career opportunities in the motorcycle industry and as such, it is anticipated that a large number of students from across Ireland will avail of the chance to examine the possibilities that may be open to them.

Students from schools, colleges and universities will be able to gain free entry at the special time of 12 noon on Friday, February 6th.

In addition to the main exhibition of the latest machinery, the PSNI will again be in attendance to promote the BikeSafe initiative in partnership with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).

The Northern Ireland Karting Association will also be on hand to provide details on how to become involved in the sport, while the display of vintage and classic machines and the ever popular auto-jumble will be housed in a separate hall, offering a unique collection of bikes from bygone days.

The 2015 Adelaide Masters Series, Ireland’s biggest motorcycle racing series, will be officially launched at the Festival and details of the championship will be available all weekend at the Mondello Park stand.
