Heavy Quadricycles Tests

euroncapEuro NCAP Crash Tests on Heavy Quadricycles

Euro NCAP has tested four heavy quadricycles in a special safety campaign.

They say that vehicles tested have performed very poorly and some have shown serious risks of life threatening injuries.

Adding that although street-legal, quadricycles do not have to pass any of the rigorous crash tests to which cars are subjected.

Pierre Castaing – Head of Service Regulatory Affairs – UTAC-CERAM says that this category of vehicle is type approved in the same category as a motorbike – which is true – however at about 2mins into the video he says that – this category is in general safer than a motorbike.

On our Facebook page comments are: A bit like comparing apples with oranges. The results show that these things are ‘better’ than motorcycles and ‘worse’ than cars. Hardly the revelation of the century is it?

Have a look at the video below and the crash tests and let us know what you think!
