Stars to attend Adelaide/Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival
For motorcycle fans all roads lead to the King’s Hall in Belfast where the Annual Adelaide/Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival will run from Friday, February 7th to Sunday, February 9th.
The thousands of festival-goers should be sure to bring their autograph books with them as a glittering array of stars from the world of two wheels have been confirmed as official guests by the festival promoters.
World Superbike star Eugene Laverty, who was recently crowned Adelaide Irish Motorcyclist of the Year along with multi British title winner Alastair Seeley and veteran Michael Rutter who has numerous North West, TT and BSB wins to his credit will be the top attraction at the opening of the show. Seeley intends to be at the show on Saturday as well as Friday, while Rutter will be in residence for the full three days of the event.
Manx road racer Dan Kneen will be at the King’s Hall on the Friday and Saturday.
Kneen has just signed for John Burrows Racing and during the coming year he will be hoping to challenge the Dunlop brothers for international wins. William Dunlop plans to be at the festival representing Tyco Suzuki while Michael Dunlop is also expected to make at least one appearance over the weekend.
Fresh from a Macau Grand Prix win, international road racing star Ian Hutchinson is always popular with fans in Belfast and his followers can meet their hero on either the Saturday or the Sunday. Joining Hutchinson is Scotland’s finest – reigning British Supersport Champion and North West 200 regular Stuart Easton who will ride a Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki in the 2014 BSB series.
Irish Champion Jamie Hamilton is growing in popularity all the time and his local fans can meet the young Ballyclare man on his own stand over the weekend.
Another racer hoping to raise his profile with a weekend residency in the King’s Hall is rising short circuit racer Conor Parkhill who will ride Kawasaki 600 machinery in 2014 for Limavady businessman and former racer Gerald Kingsbury.
The ever popular auto-jumble will be a magnate for collectors and tinkering enthusiasts while the off-road fraternity will be out in force with MX, Quad Cross and Enduro/Cross County all represented in the Motocross Village. Motocross star Martin Barr will be the main off-road VIP.
Four wheeled sport makes an appearance at the festival courtesy of the North of Ireland Karting Association who will be launching the 2014 NI Kart racing season.
With all things adding up and with the wind prevailing in the right direction we should be there with the Biker NI Safety Cards – www.bikernisafetycard.org
The cards will also be available from the Bikesafe stand – Bikesafe Northern Ireland
