The annual Toy Run from the Ancestors MCC at the weekend was an excellent fund raising event from the club.
The annual event now it its twenty-umtenth year raises funds for the Children’s Ward at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.
The run followed its now traditional route from Ballygowan – Lisburn – Belfast to the Ulster Hospital at Dundonald with plenty of riders in festive mood in various costumes a multitude of Santas, at least one Snowman and bikes adored with tinsel and a few reindeer antlers, not real ones of course!.
It was quite a sight as the run marshalled by the club and police motorcycles passed by the Christmas Market at Belfast City Hall, it seemed like thousands of shoppers lined the street to watch the spectacle of over 300 riders pass through.
The usual spread of soup and food was waiting at the hospital and was most welcomed, even if there was not that real chill in the air for this time of year.
At the moment around £2200 was raised – along with toys and vouchers – fantastic!
