World Record Attempt – Quay Vipers

quayvipersrecordjune2013-250The Quay Vipers MCC World Record Attempt – As part of the Quay Vipers MCC NI Children’s Hospice Ride Out on Sunday 16th June 2013 the first 2 miles of the ride out will be an attempt to set a world record for the most different makes of motorcycle in a parade.

The Quay Vipers, with support from Adelaide Insurance and the IAM, will be looking to beat the target of 138 different makes and models set at the Donington Park Race Circuit by the KillSpills Campaign (UK) in May 2007.

Vintage bikes would be welcome and it would be great to see some old classic bikes in the procession.

If you are bringing one you’re welcome to bring these bikes by car and trailer as there is plenty of parking.

The IAM are targeting Northern Ireland in recognition of New Yorker, Carl Stearns Clancy.

Carl was the first person to circumnavigate the world on a motorbike and started his epic journey in Ireland, setting off from Dublin and up through Belfast on the first leg of this historic trip. This is the centenary year and motorcycle adventurist and journalist Geoff Hill will be emulating this event in the coming year.

The Route

The route starts at Carrickfergus harbour car park and runs on the coast road to Glenariff before returning to Carrickfergus bowling club.

“Please register your details so we can categorise your bike in preparation for the Parade and Record Attempt.
