Motorcycle Live 2012

Star-studded line-up to open Motorcycle Live

Motorcycle Live 2012 takes place at The NEC, Birmingham from 24 November to 2 December and promises to be a great day out for all ages and for bikers and non-bikers alike.

As the thousands of happy visitors have come to expect, the show also boasts all the major motorcycle manufacturers as well as a daily dose of famous faces and legendary racers to keep the crowds entertained.

Motorcycle Live 2012 will open with a bang on Saturday 24 November as a star-studded selection of racers appear on stage to create a live version of the ‘real bikers’ line-up that features in this year’s advertising campaign.

The people in the ad – who were chosen through a social media promotion earlier this year – will be replaced in the live version by the likes of Cal Crutchlow, Leon Haslam, Jonathan Rea, Bradley Smith, John McGuinness, Tom Sykes, Tommy Hill, Scott Redding and Chaz Davies. MotoGP commentator Matt Roberts and biking rugby star Matt Banahan will also join in the celebrations as the nine-day motorcycle extravaganza opens its doors.

The celebrity-packed ceremony will take place at 10.30am in the British Eurosport Entertainment Zone featuring the Blackhorse Stage, which will play host to a revamped schedule of non-stop games, quizzes and talk shows for the duration of Motorcycle Live.

Show goers can get involved in the interactive stage games to win exclusive prizes and will also have the chance to see their racing heroes in the flesh in daily Q&As with James Whitham.

There will be all-new games such as British Eurosport’s I’m A Commentator, Get Me Out Of Here!, where contestants can step into the commentary booth alongside TV race pundits Steve Parrish and James Whitham, and Blackhorse Race an Ace, where visitors can go head-to-head on a virtual MotoGP game with a racing star.

Some of the old favourites, such as the ever-popular Fast Bikes Question of Bikes quiz and the Wheel Change Challenge – now sponsored by Superbike magazine – will remain on the schedule.

Dunlop Tyres will sponsor the test of strength known as Man of Steel, while Oxford Products will support the always-hilarious Dress/Undress.
