From the The Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA)
The Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) has advised customers with motor tax discs which expire this month that the reminder notices they have received may be wrong.
Incorrect duty rates
Rates of duty changed on 1 April 2011 following the Chancellor’s Budget in March but some of the reminders issued by post in May showed the old rates instead of the new ones.
Customers affected
Everyone who is affected should get new reminders within the next few days.
You must pay the correct fee for your new tax disc regardless of the amount displayed on the reminder notice.
Staff in local vehicle licensing offices and in Post Offices will be able to tell you the correct amount.
