Big Hearted Events

September sees more charity ride outs than you can shake a big stick at, collecting money to add to the tens of thousands of pounds each year that motorcyclists in Northern Ireland raise for various charities.

From this Saturday’s Men On A Mission bike ride for aid in Africa to Right To Ride club supporters – the Strand Bikers MCC’s  Phillip Kennedy Memorial Run whose nominated charities this year are St Johns Ambulance and the MCUI Medics to the Red line IX 7th Charity Ride out which is in aid of Antrim and Ballymena Foster Childrens’ Christmas Party.

There are five runs/ride outs that we at Right To Ride are aware of, so you may have to split yourself in two, as some of the rides clash on dates.

The remaining two runs/ride outs are Lizzie Drakes MCC Charity Poker Run – all proceeds go to the ‘Shine a Light’ children’s cancer charity and the Brothers of the Third Wheel Charity Ride Out – all proceeds go to Shimna Valley Children’s holiday home.

So lost for somewhere to ride with a purpose?  Then throw your leg over your bike and join fellow motorcyclists at least one of these events.

Somewhere in amongst all these rideouts are two Bikesafe assessment days at BMW Mallusk and Hein Gericke Newry.

Last but least Right To Ride’s club supporters the Quay Vipers MCC take a rest of sorts from their successful and massive charity fund raising events this year to present their 9th Snakebite Rally at the Benone Complex in Derry/Londonderry.

The rally will host thirteen acts over the weekend for entertainment – Covered Custom/Streetfighter show – a variety of trade stalls selling biker gear for old and young – Catering with tables and chairs in floored dining area – Bar (Prices) in large marquee, with floor – the event could be your home from home for the weekend.

If you are on Facebook visit the – Northern Ireland Motorcycle Clubs and Bikers – page, you can list your clubs events, invite your friends, invite other clubs, all you need to get the word out.
