Island Trikers Street Collection

islandtrikerschairty1smallYesterday saw the annual Christmas street collection in Belfast by the “Island Trikers” for their chosen charity, the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

The group use their trikes, some costumes and gentle persuasion, along with bright yellow Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children t-Shirts – very extra large to go over bike gear – to encourage the shoppers of Belfast to part with their hard earned cash.

In the past the group has lifted over 10K in 3 years with a handful of their members standing out in bracing weather, from early morning to late evening, at various strategic points in Belfast City Centre, from Belfast City Hall, Europa Hotel and Castle Court.

News just in on the amount raised is, that the provisional count is at a total of OVER £4,600.

What can we say other than and we nearly swore but absolutely fantastic!!!

Island Trikers over on their Facebook page have said, “Can we just say a MONSTER thank you to all who took part, esp the bikers who came down and joined in the collection, Doc and Karen Langley, Ivan, Lee, David Cunningham, Trevor Baird, Sharon, Gary & Ross (hoping I have left no one out or got your name wrong). Accurate count will follow by the end of the weekend.

Also all the Island Trikers who took part.

Thanks to all those who donated food, refreshments and generally lifted our spirits and keep us busy with chat and banter.

Lastly to all those who put their hand in their pocket to donate to this worthy cause.”

  1. Nice to see you guys yesterday and had a great wee chat with Andrew, one of your members. Good job staying out in the cold! Keep up the good work. Thanks, Rhonda from Christian Motorcycle Association. X
